I used to think Kelly Lebrock was hot

You know those moments where you think back to when you were younger, about the women you may have seen on the TV while growing up, and gone "unF" *fwap fwap fwap*..

Well back then, I think Kelly Lebrock may have been one of those women (along with Cher....*shudder*)

Out of interest, I just googled...urgh. what was I thinking? Teenage hormones to blame I think.

Anyway - I think Mr Zabiela must have had a similar experience, because he was so confused by the ordeal that he was inspired to make a tune, "Weird Science". When that didn't cure his nightmares, he made a new version of it.

James Zabiela - "Weirder Science" (Renaissance)

A classic updated

Due to a lack of tunes I like right now, I'm going back to some older stuff that you've probably heard and got by now, but if not...

Moby - "Go" [Trentemoller Remix]

Trentemoller. On the one hand he does boring-as-fuck minimal original shite, that while excellently produced, just doesn't do anything for me. On the other hand, he produces gems like this when he remixes others.

Portsmouth might not have a good football team, but they can still be proud of...

Beta Blokka - "Social handgrenade" (Silver Planet Recordings)

South coast action from two Dave Robertson-taught producers. They're receiving big support from other ILTT favourites like Dave Spoon, Danny Freakazoid, Mark Knight and James Zabiela, and this track is an example of why.

This track has quickly grown on me. Initially it didn't grab me as much as I hoped it would, but having listened to it a few times now I've been converted, and I'm really feeling it.

I think I've eaten too much

Gabriel & Dresden ft. Jan Burton - "Dangerous Power" [Discount Rhino Dubber Rucky Mix] (Organized Nature)

Beats: check.
Bassline: check.
small vocal sample: check.
nice complimenting melody floating about: check.

good tune: check.

Actually, the full vocal version isn't that bad either. Depends how much vocal you want in your track.

Are you ready to party?

Yer man - "Work It" [Dub Mix] (Mena Music)

Mena come up trumps again, and by extension so has label boss, Aaron McClelland. Yer Man (Aaron McClelland himself - also known as Effin & Blindin and Fonzarelli to name two more alias), has made some top quality dirty electro productions over the last year or two, and this is no exception. The vocal version is a little bit too annoying for me, so I prefer the dub version.

The bassline builds up and gradually carries the whole track along, although thinking about it, I'd probably like to see someone come up with a remix and make some mad squelchy distorted shit to go with the bad ass bassline, but for now this version is on repeat.

Remember Remember

As it's the 5th of November, Fireworks night (at least in the UK), what better than to post a track with Fireworks in the title? It would have been a great idea, had I not already posted Surkin's "Radio Fireworks" more than a month ago, grrr.

So instead, I have nothing that fits the theme of Fireworks night, so instead I'll just post this:

Audio Thieves - "Pray Like Aretha Franklin" [Van She Tech EBS Mix] (ISpy Records)

This is an update of Scritti Politti's "classic" - "Wood Beez (Pray Like Aretha Franklin)"
and there seems to be some secrecy about who the Audio Thieves actually are..So they're either REALLY famous, or not very famous, but still need an alias in order to release tracks with uncleared samples, or they're totally unknowners, who happen to know people who can do great remixes....

Anway - I seriously recommend getting any remix by the Van She Tech posse, because they know how to make a great remix. Other great examples include I Am Finn – "I Love You" (Van She Tech Remix), and Valentinos - CCTV (Bang Gang vs. Van She Tech Remix), both of which are seriously good and mentioned many times across the blogosphere.

But this particular track I'm posting, er..it sparkles.....it Bangs!

Oh fucks sake, I did my best to make a connection to 5/11, damn it :(
